NEW YORK -- On Tuesday 7th of November, at the entrance of Pace University, students exiting their classes were greeting with a martial arts demonstration by Pakua students and Masters.
The demonstration was a combined effort by the Brooklyn and Manhattan Pakua schools, and was organized by the United Chinese Student Association. Some 200 Pace University students watched the demonstration and later mingled with the Pakua students asking questions about the demonstration and about Pakua in general.
The demonstration started off with the 24 movements showing bystanders how to generate energy in the body through movements. This was followed by a demonstration of punches and kicks as well as some techniques of one-step-fighting and self defense.
The long distance rolls over students laying on the floor were greeted with exclamations of amazements as were the height rolls.
Pakua Chuan was demonstrated by Master Eric Fromme, II, and his student Christa Meier-Staude
Throughout the event music and narration accompagnied the movements and explained to the spectators what they were witnessing.
The organizers of the event were quite pleased with the turnout of Pace University students and thanked the Pakua New York Organization by presenting Master Shawn Ciuraru, III, with a beautiful plaque congratulating Pakua for their martial arts demonstration.
Pakua New York periodically organizes this type of demonstrations in various parts of the city. Schools, camps for underpriviledged children, Universities and other learning institutions are very often the hosts of these demonstrations.

If you would like to contact the Pakua New York School for a demonstration, please write to demonstration@pakua.org
